Tim's training run- preparing for Leadville 100 mile ultraendurance run

A 10- hour run/climb through the snow from Thredbo to Charlotte's Pass and return.
Caught in a bad white-out forced Tim to back track and locate original route via instinct and survival skills as modern GPS technology did not work. Once back on the original route, GPS kicked in and he was able to find his way back.

Huskisson Long-Course Triathlon

Alison raced the long-course triathlon on the weekend- 13th March. It was a 2km swim, 83km ride, 20 km run. Alison completed in 5hrs 54 mins- broke the 6 hr mark - woo hoo - with a great ride and swim. This is a 37 min PB and shows where a year of dedicated training and listening to a coach will take a person. Below are photos showing off the new bike, the beautiful scenery of Huskisson and some action shots.

Beautiful

Tim Garrett's Philosophy on UltraDistance Running

I workout because it's a lifestyle choice that keeps me balanced & gives me
energy & positive outlook.

My biggest motivator is that I enjoy setting goals that challenges me physically, mentally & spiritually. It is a test of courage, strength, endurance, determination & the challenge is to finish. The satisfaction of completing is euphoric. This can only be appreciated by the participants who dare to step out of their comfort zone.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort,
but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Ironman Western Australia

On December 5th 2010 Tim and Alison completed their first Ironman event. 226km inclusive of 3.8 km swim, 180 km ride and 42.2 km run.

It was the ultimate conclusion to months of training and a great test of endurance, persistence and a never give up attitude.
